Our rates start at $0.95/min for a 7-10 business day turnaround time. If you have a file that is 20 minutes long, the cost will be $19. A 3-5 business day turnaround costs $1.20/min, and a 24-hour turnaround costs $2.40/min. Timestamps and verbatim transcription each cost an additional $0.25/min. We have three options for you, based on your needs: (1) “urgent” turnaround is 24 hours (includes weekends), (2) “standard” turnaround is 3-5 business days, and (3) “relaxed” turnaround is 7-10 business days. For very large orders submitted at one time, we may reach out to you to adjust the timeline.

No, we do not offer discounts for bulk orders. Our goal is to price our services as competitively as possible, without sacrificing quality.

Not by default. But if the number of speakers creates cross-talk that is highly challenging, or if many speakers need to be individually identified, then we will reach out to you to explain the issue and coordinate the right pricing. This is not common.
Not by default. But in rare circumstances, we will reach out to customers to coordinate pricing if the audio quality is unusually poor.

If you aren’t satisfied with your order, let us know within 14 days of receiving your transcripts. We’ll work with you to resolve any concern. If we are unable to find an adequate resolution, we’ll process a full refund at your request. Click here for more information on our refund policy.

We charge per minute of audio we transcribe. If you have 100 minutes of audio and order our standard turnaround time, the total cost will be $120 ($1.20 per audio minute transcribed).

Only under rare circumstances would there be an additional charge. Such circumstances include: (1) audio quality is very poor, (2) speaker identification is highly challenging (e.g. five speakers need to be identified individually) or (3) the customer has specific formatting requests that require additional work. These circumstances are uncommon. When they do come up, we reach out to our customers to find a reasonable solution.


This is the most popular and standard form of transcription. It edits out filler words such as “umm,” “uhh,” and “like.” It also excludes stutters, false-starts, and repetitive words; making the transcript easier to read without changing any meaning and without exercising editorial discretion.
Verbatim transcription includes filler words such as “umm,” “uhh,” and “like.” It also includes stutters, false-starts, repetitive words, and sounds (such as laughter). The aim is to transcribe all audible content.
Timestamps mark specific interviews on your transcript. For example, if you select timestamps every 2 minutes your transcript will be marked every 2 minutes with a tag similar to [00:02:00], [00:04:00], and so on.
Our standard and relaxed turnaround speeds do not include weekends or major U.S. holidays. Our urgent 24-hour turnaround speed includes weekends but excludes major U.S. holidays (Labor Day, Independence Day, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas). If you have any questions, or if you are on a tight timeline for whatever reason, please reach out to us to coordinate.

Most of our transcriptionists are based in the United States and Canada, with a smaller percentage based internationally.
We can transcribe Spanish audio / video to Spanish text. We do not currently work with other languages. For Spanish transcription, the same rates and order process applies as with English.

We have the ability to transcribe any audio / video recordings you have. Common filetypes include MP3, MP4, M4A, WMV, WAV, MOV, AVI, AIF, ASF, VOB, AMR, and WMA.
Yes, we have transcriptionists with extensive work experience in both the legal and medical fields. If your legal jurisdiction requires certified transcription for court use, we may or may not be able to provide it based on your state’s laws. Please reach out to us with questions. Also note that we are not a HIPAA-compliant transcription service.

Security / Confidentiality

All client files are treated as highly confidential. We are able to redact certain information upon request. Files are stored during transcription (and for up to 6 months after transcripts have been delivered) on our private, encrypted server. Access to files is limited to our transcription team. All payments are processed via two industry-leading payment processors: Stripe (for cards like Mastercard, Visa, American Express, etc.) and PayPal (for PayPal accounts). We don’t store credit card information. Some clients may require signed non-disclosure agreements, which we can typically get back to you within 24 hours. If you do not have a non-disclosure agreement drafted up, we can provide one upon request. Lastly, all of our transcriptionists are under strict non-disclosure agreements. Our transcription process is built around consistently delivering high quality transcripts to our clients. We hire talented transcriptionists, uphold high internal quality standards, and have each transcript reviewed by our experienced team prior to delivery. Many clients are surprised to learn we do not use speech-recognition software. High quality transcription requires an understanding of the nuances of language and the context in which it is spoken. That is why all of our transcripts are human-generated and human-reviewed.

Security, privacy, and confidentiality are top priorities.

Many of our clients deal with sensitive, confidential recordings. Based on your needs, we are able to redact specific names or other information from the transcript to maintain confidentiality. All files are encrypted during transmission, and our transcriptionists and managerial team are under strict non-disclosure agreements. Client audio files are typically stored on our private server for 6 months, but they can be deleted as soon as 14 days after delivery upon client request. Finished transcripts are stored on our server and uploaded to our client portal, when applicable. Payments are processed securely and data is transmitted directly to our two payment processors: PayPal and Stripe. We do not receive or store any payment information.
